About
Melissa Davis, RDH, APP
I am a local Fairbanks resident, wife, mother and Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). My dental career began right out of high school working as a pediatric dental assistant. I pursued higher education in dental hygiene, graduating with honors from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2008. My dental hygiene career started at Interior Community Health Center. In 2012 I attended Clark College in Washington, obtaining a restorative endorsement. This certification allows me to place restorations (fillings). Working in community health for 10 years spotlights the lack of care, and rampant oral disease in our community. This was something I wanted to change. The underserved became my passion and priority. I successfully worked to pass legislation in Alaska that allows RDH’s to expand their skills into care facilities. I am excited to begin helping seniors, the disabled, and the underserved whose circumstances prevent them from receiving dental care in the typical dental office environment.
Experience: 24 total years of dental experience. 7 years of pediatric dental experience.
Volunteer: I have volunteered many hours at Alaska Mission of Mercy multiple times and have been a part of sealant clinics in local schools.
